Women’s Coworking Retreat

If you are working on a writing project, putting together a grant or business proposal, completing job or school applications, or even trying to map out your social media posts, this retreat is for you! The goal is to give you time away from your daily life…where you may be pulled in a hundred different directions…and dedicated space to make progress on something that often gets pushed aside.

We will spend time getting to know one another and sharing our personal goals for the retreat, as focus and accountability are critical to productivity. Sessions will include guided goal-setting, selecting personal wellness activities to support your mental health (such as going to the gym, taking a walk, reading a book, or calling family), and scheduled coworking time, typically in two-hour blocks. The hotel has a 24/7 gym if that is one of your wellness activities!

We will have a private meeting room with a terrace for meals and coworking sessions. Snacks and caffeine will be provided. Each participant will also have their own private room at Wayfinder Newport in Rhode Island for both nights.

Working retreats helped us finish our dissertations, build our individual private practices, and develop our roles as faculty members. We know the effect that going to new surroundings and removing the daily noise can have on productivity. 

We hope you will join us and feel empowered to get stuff done!

Kelly Gentry, PhD, LPC is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Capella University. She is also the owner of Kelly Gentry Counseling and Empowered Connections Groups focusing on providing mental health services to women who have experienced physical and psychological abuse, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression. Kelly has been Vegan for 15 years enjoys reading (most genres), exercising (hot pilates, Peloton cycling, outdoor walks, yoga), spending time with her kids (she has 2) and her husband, and planning trips to Disney World for other people.

Candice Crawford, PhD, LMHC, wears many hats—-she is a licensed mental health counselor, Assistant Professor of counselor education, and entrepreneur. Candice owns and operates Clarity and Wellness Mental Health Counseling, a group private practice that primarily serves women of color who have endured trauma. Though busy with numerous professional ventures, Candice intentionally makes time for personal development through spending time with family and friends, staying active (she’s a die hard Orangetheory girlie), traveling, and lots of karaoke.
