Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

All appointments are currently conducted via telehealth (video), so you can enjoy the convenience of therapy from the comfort of your home - no commute necessary! Please note that you must be a New Jersey resident and located in the state during our sessions. However, if you're seeking career counseling, you can connect from anywhere in the country.

How long are sessions?

The first session is an intake lasting 60 to 75 minutes, during which I will get to know you, understand what brings you to counseling, and discuss your goals for our work together. Subsequent sessions typically last 45 minutes.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE MEET?

I often receive this question, and the short answer is: as frequently as is necessary and manageable for you, both financially and within your schedule. However, I recommend that we meet weekly for at least the first four sessions to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. This foundation is essential for effective counseling.

After this initial period, we can discuss whether weekly or bi-weekly sessions would work best for you. Ultimately, it's important that you choose what feels right for your life, mental health, and budget. Please remember that open communication about your needs is key—it's what brings you to counseling in the first place!

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

For individual counseling, I accept the following insurances: Optum, Oscar, Oxford, UHC, and Aetna. I can also assist with out-of-network benefits. If you do not have insurance or are interested in career counseling, please feel free to contact me for information about fees.

How do i schedule a session?

Sessions can be conveniently scheduled online.

What will happen after I schedule my first session?

Before your first session, you will receive paperwork to complete online. Please allow sufficient time to finish this, as it must be submitted at least 24 hours before your appointment.

How many sessions do i need?

The number of sessions varies for each individual. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and no average duration applies. Counseling concludes when you feel you have achieved your goals.

how do i know if this is the right fit for me?

Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have, or to schedule a free brief phone consultation. The first step toward empowerment is asking for what you need. You can also schedule a free consultation directly here.

how does payment work?

All clients are required to keep a credit card on file. As all sessions and groups are conducted virtually, credit card payment is the only accepted method.
