Career Counseling & Coaching
Achieving career satisfaction requires effort and dedication. Whether you are a recent graduate, a mother re-entering the workforce, or seeking clarity on your career path, identifying what may be holding you back from feeling fulfilled can be overwhelming.
Career counseling involves self-reflection, exploration, decision-making, and goal setting. Using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, we will collaborate to establish goals that empower you to achieve long-term career satisfaction. Together, we can navigate this journey toward a more fulfilling professional life.
What will our work together look like?
Initially, we will collaborate to explore your goals for the career counseling process. This will involve gathering information about your educational and work history, your preferences and dislikes, and relevant family work history.
Next, you will complete assessments that will help us understand your decision-making processes, personality type, interests, and abilities. Finally, we will develop a personalized plan with realistic goals designed to enhance your self-awareness and confidence, equipping you with the skills needed to pursue your career aspirations effectively.
will you help with my resume?
As a career counselor, my primary focus is on discussing your experiences and identifying any barriers that may be preventing you from progressing toward your career goals. While I do not specialize in reviewing resumes and cover letters, if we develop a plan during our sessions that includes a resume review, it can certainly be incorporated. Additionally, there will be workshops and group sessions available to help you create professional career documents. If you specifically seek assistance with your resume, please refer to our Career Coaching Services outlined below.
will you find me a job?
No, career counseling is not a job placement service. Instead, it is a reflective process focused on goal setting, aimed at equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to find job opportunities and make informed career decisions.
how many sessions does career counseling take?
The process of career counseling involves self-reflection and exploration, making it most effective when session numbers are not limited initially. I generally recommend a minimum of four sessions, though six to ten sessions are likely to provide greater benefits. We will discuss this further during our first meeting.
